Lately I've been reading books on a wide range of ancient civilizations throughout the Americas. My wife and I just took a trip to Alaska where we learned a lot about the 10,000+ year old Tlingit culture. Prior to that I'd been focused on central and south American cultures. So here are some of the books on these topics we'll be discussing soon:
Tlingit Tales, by Lorle K. Harris, Naturegraph Publishers, 1985. Shamans and Kushtakas, by Mary Giraudo Beck, Alaska Northwest Books, 1991. Heroes and Heroines in Tlingit-Haida Legend, by Mary L. Beck, Alaska Northwest Books, 1989. The Lost Realms, by Zecharia Sitchin, Bear and Company, 1990. Incidents of Travel in Yucatan, Vols I and II, by John L. Stephens and Frederick Catherwood, Cosimo Books, 2008. The Tiwanaku: Portrait of an Andean Civilization, by Alan L. Kolata, Blackwell Publishers, 1993.
